GPGServices: PGP decryption filename incorrect
Which of our tools is giving you problems? GPG Services: PGP decryption
Describe your problem. Add as much detail as possible. When decrypting PGP encrypted files, the content is correctly decrypted but the original filename is not set. Instead a filename with letters and numbers with .tmp extension is saved. (Example dlvrDd6BF6hTO1851921816077871937.tmp).
What did you expect instead I would expect the original filename to be set for PGP decrypted files. The 'Kleopatra' Windows based software does save the original filename for the same PGP encrypted file, so I'm guessing that GPGtools should be able to do the same when a fix is implemented.
Thanks for all the good work!!

Hi Jonathan,
welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.
We are unable to reproduce the described behavior. Could you create a test file called test.txt. Then encrypt that file using GPGServices and then decrypt. Does that result in the described behavior?
You do not seem to have MacGPG installed on your system as indicated by the attached screenshot showing your version info. Are you using a custom gpg? If not, you may want to download and re-install GPG Suite from our website.
All the best,
steve

Hi Steve,
Thanks for you advise! I uninstalled and installed the GPG Suite again and
now the MacGPG version 2.2.3 is showing up.
Unfortunately the filename still does not match the original one, when
decrypting the PGP encrypted files I have. it's like a temporary filename
'dlvrDd6BF6hTO1851921816077871937.tmp' but the content is correctly
decrypted.
When encrypting/decrypting files using GPG, the filename is correct when
decrypting, so it is only issue with the PGP encrypted files.
Anymore suggestions?
Kind regards, Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,
this is in fact an interesting issue. GPG Services does use a temporary file for the decryption, but later should rename that file to the filename. Does this happen with every file you're trying to decrypt?
Would it be possible to send us a test file that is encrypted to us?
Thanks!
