Which of our tools is giving you problems? Not a problem. I'm using 2016.10 suite with 1.3.2 of the keychain. On OS X 10.11.6.

I hope someone can point me to a simple "how it works" description of the encryption/decryption process.

Many thanks,
Tony Lima

    Hey Tony,

welcome to the GPGTools community support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

For new users the best starting point is our Getting Started Tutorial.

Let me know if that covers what you where looking for.

Steve, I apologize for not explaining what I was looking for clearly. I am not having a problem using GPG tools. What I’m looking for is a description of how the encryption - decryption process works. Specifically, I’m trying to figure out the relationship between and uses of a public key and a private key.

    Thanks,
    Tony

That is covered in the KB I posted a link to.

Additionally, this KB-article explains the basics of public key cryptography. It's a long text but worth the time.

Let me know if you have more questions or need further assistance after going through that KB.

    Best, steve
