Yosemite PCSC bugs reported to Apple?
Has anyone gone through the process and reported the PCSC bugs found to Apple?
I've reported some through bugreport.apple.com and had them fixed, I've found other bugs and reported them (hanging issues) but the more people filing specific bugs, the better.

I have seen that some of the fixes around hangs were fixed by launching a thread with a timeout and cancelling the thread... but that seems awful dangerous and likely to leak memory.

we've used that timeout "trick". It's certainly not a good workaround but it seems to work for some of our users without problems. We'll keep watching it.
We've also implemented the check in the code where scdaemon requests the current status from PCSC and is expecting a timeout under other circumstances, so it might be less problematic there.
