Expiring Beta NOT helpful

I am trying to use GPG in my office and have been for quite some time. My business partner is not terribly tech savvy but willing to try to use encryption. For quite some time, that worked out flawlessly. Now however, with the advent of Beta 5 and Beta 6 -- all of sudden she'll fire up the email and get a "beta expired" message. Then I need to redownload the Beta and reinstall. This is making it very hard for me to convince her to continue using encryption. It's terrible marketing on your part. Instead of disabling GPG, you should flash a warning, and not totally disable the software.

    Hey Odin,

    thanks for your feedback on this. The entire update mechanism should work much smoother in the future. Up till beta 6 automatic updates did not work as expected. As soon as we found out that that is the case we fixed the problem and released beta 6.

    Please let me know if any issues remain after installing beta 6 and you might want to check with your client that the automatic update check in Mail.app > Prefereces > GPGMail is enabled.
