welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

It depends on what you are trying to achieve. You can add a user id to your existing key with the name / email you want. And you can revoke the old user id.

This KB-article explains how to add more than one email address to an existing key. The email addresses in a key are called userIDs and you can add as many as you want. You can of course also create an additional key for the other email address.

Important note: Note that all email addresses you add to a single key can be connected to one identity. Depending on your use-case this might be wanted or should be avoided. Please consider that first and then proceed.

Let me know if this answers your question and if you need further assistance.

Best,

Many thanks for this. It’s the User ID I was hoping to change to a new name, not the email address.

Is it possible to do that?

Many thanks
But the name cannot be changed for an existing user id which is why I suggested to eiher take the route via a new user id with different name and same email or create a new key in case the names should not be connected to one identity.

Stevetag:gpgtools.tenderapp.com,2011-11-04:Comment/456859812018-07-25T15:49:01Z2018-07-25T15:49:01Zchange name of public key

Closing, since no further user feedback was received. Should your problem persist, feel free to re-open this discussion any time.
