Suppose I am viewing the User IDs on some key, and see that it is signed by a key that I don’t have in my keychain.

  1. I am looking at key AAAAA, with the User IDs panel open. There is a signature of AAAAA by BBBBBB.

  2. While keeping views as they are, I click on Lookup Key.

  3. I look up BBBBBB

  4. I import BBBBBB

Crash!

    Hi Jeffrey,

thanks for taking the time to file this report.

Does this persist after updating to GPG Suite 2017.1?

I tried reproducing this problem and discovered somewhat slow response while downloading the key in question but no crash.

Just to ensure I am taking the correct steps, here's what I tried:

    1. open key details for some random key, in my case F9F8 9579 AFDF EBB2 D4E9 1BE2 BD58 E71C 42F3 D4D4
    2. open user IDs tab
    3. click the icon "Lookup Key" and search for DE879F23
    4. find public key and select "Retrieve key"

It takes a while to import the key but it finishes the operation after a bit without crashing.

Can you update GPG Suite to 2017.1 and see if the crash then persists.

Also we've added an easier way to do this:

Right-click any signature in the user IDs tab and from that menu you can then select "Download Key".

Let me know how that goes.

    All the best,
    steve

I cannot reproduce the problem with 2017.1 (GPG Keychain 1.4). So please close this issue.

Sorry, I should have closed this once I updated.

    Cheers,

No worries. It's always relieving to hear a potential issue is already solved :)

And if you run into further trouble don't hesitate to get in touch.

    Best,
    steve
