GPGPreferences: GPGSuite_Updater is stealing x11/qartz focus
Using:
GPGMail 2.7b3 on MacOs 10.12.6.
X11/Quarz 2.7.11 (xorg-server 1.18.4)
When using X11 Apps (meld, git,…) the application windows focus goes away unexceptionally within 4 seconds.
Using simple python script to see who “actives” the window (notifications received on “NSWorkspaceApplicationKey”) I found out it’s a GPG tool: GPGSuite_Updater (org.gpgtools.updater). Even if I disable automatic update checks I see that this process is started every few seconds.
Expected
Either do not call this process when auto updates are turned off, or proper solution would be to do this task completely on background and not request active a x11 window what really steals window focus of other x11 apps.

Hi Peter,
welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.
Could you please download and install our latest GPG Suite nightly build and see if the problem persists. That page also has sig and SHA256 to verify the download.
All the best,

Thank you Steve for your support.
The issue persists in your build. The GPGSuite_Updater process still
steals the x11 apps focus.
Regards,
Peter

Have a great day,
