key generation fails with EOF exception (Yosemite Beta)

GPG Suite - 2014.11.Yosemite-b2.dmg

Problem: Generating a new key fails with an end of file exception.

Console output is:

14.11.14 09:57:47,521 GPG Keychain[1506]: Exception: Generate new key failed!
Code = 0

14.11.14 09:57:47,521 GPG Keychain[1506]: Error text: gpg: Problem mit dem Agenten: End of file
Status text: [GNUPG:] NEED_PASSPHRASE_SYM 3 3 2

Changing the length of the passphrase and/or the key kind (RSA/DSA) doesn't change this behaviour.
I also reinstalled GPGtools and GPG keychain, and I removed the ~/.gnupg folder, but the key still can't be generated (same error).

   Hi Jan,

   did you already download and install GPG Suite Beta 4? Does that change anything? Are you able to create any keys using that version?
