Hello!

I installed GPG recently and using with one of my account.
I experience constantly the issue described in this ticket:
https://gpgtools.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/44743-apple-mai...

The installed GPG version is 2.7b3 build 1215b

With my other account this is mot happening, it happens only with my corporate google account.

The Encrypt drafts option is not checked. (I checked this after mail restart as well)
The remote Draft folder is used to keep the drafts, for obvious reason :)

Thank you,
Tibor.

Could you guide me how to get rid of this annoying countless number of automatically created draft messages? (They are not deleted after the mail is sent.)

    Hi Tibor,

welcome to the GPGTools support platform. Sorry you are having problems using GPG Suite.

Am I understanding correctly that you are running into encrypted drafts despite having the setting for that disabled?

Or is the problem you are seeing "just" about the many drafts which are not being deleted?

In the latter case, the problem at hand is caused by a bug in Apples Mail.app. It already exists in Apples bug tracking system and is bug #7053869.

Please use their feedback form to inform Apple about this problem and ask them kindly to consider investing the time to fix this Mail.app bug. It may help to add the bug number, so they know which issue you are referring to.

Feel free to share any feedback you may receive.

We understand this is a frustrating bug but it is somewhat out of our hands to fix this.

    All the best,
    steve

Yes this is the same bug. I've removed the mail plugin to get rid of this behaviour.
Will use some command line tools until this is not fixed on Mail or GPG side.
Still waiting to hear back for about any solution.
This has been reported to Mac's Mail but no feedback for 3 weeks so far.
Sad to see this on a Mac wouldn't expect this.

From what I understand Apples does not respond to feedback given via that feedback form. There may always be exceptions. I find it more astonishing that this issue has at least be known since 2013 and we now have 2017 and the problem still exists.

We have a ticket for this problem. I connected this discussion with the existing ticket. That means, should this discussion get closed, it will be re-opened as soon as the ticket is closed. That way you'll stay in the loop and get notified as soon as we have news. Feel free to open a new discussions should you run into further problems or need assistance.

    Best, steve

The bug where Mail.app created multiple drafts has been fixed by Apple in macOS 10.13. If you are still affected by this issue, consider updating to macOS 10.13 High Sierra.
